How To Write Good Resume for Job Search

Hi All,
This is my first Post in this channel , and i am sure after reading this article you will be able to write a good software testing or quality assurance resume that will help you to shortlisted for interviews i will try to make this post as short as possible which should help people who are looking for a quick dos and don't for resume writing.
First and foremost thing about writing a good resume is to understand how recruiters shortlist candidates and how much time do you have to impress the recruiter in this competitive job market.As you will be knowing recruiter get hundreds of resume everyday , its your resume which can help you stand out of the crowd.

Follow the below points to create a Perfect Resume :

  • 1)Select a resume template (easily available in internet), which shows your skillset and summary in the first page itself, with your contact details.
  • 2) list out your skills, education, technologies, work experience etc in try to add these in a tabular format, which will make it easier for the hiring manager or HR to shortlist your profile. you can also add rating to these on basis of your knowledge (Self evaluation)


  • 3) while adding skill set try to add details of the skill like what you know about the skill in short, for example if you are adding Excel as your skill, you can add VLOOKUP, pivot sorting techniques.
  • 4 )Don’t exceed more two pages, there is no need to write more than two pages. Keep your resume concise and relevant
  • 5) list your work history in the following suggested order: title of position, employer, city, employment dates
